addendum: health

Oh, and I have high cholesterol.

I already had high cholesterol, but now it`s higher. Not coincidentally, we raised my T dosage several months ago.

Much rhetoric about weight loss and not eating a number of foods I don`t eat anyway, and the upshot is that it now takes just that tiny bit more work to have fun being Me.

That is all.

me too

Yep, I have the bad cholesterol high and the good is low. My triglycerides are high, which is good though. You should ask about that. The latest research I've been hearing about is that the cholesterol numbers are less and less linked to diet and to heart disease, while the triglycerides are actually indicators of your diet.

If your doctors are pushing for you to take statins, take heart (ha ha) in the latest study on statins showing that they lower the risk of dementia in old age. Dementia is something I worry about. Though I still haven't given in to letting my GP write a script for statins yet.

Citations? None. But it's out there. Probably in news.google.com health section or something.

Thanks for the lovely email btw. I was going to phone you while I was briefly in your time zone but was surprisingly busy loafing around. All is good here, fall courses are actually kind of interesting.

I'd forgotten about that. I don't even know what statins are.

You were in my dream the other night. We were on a bus. You were wearing a very odd sort of suit, almost like a mid-90s guardian angel might wear: all white linen and gold braid.

Oh, good -- did you do something in particular to lower it?

I'm taking niacin.
