So it turns out I like ties.
I believe people have tried to teach me to tie ties in the past, and it didn't take. I'd have someone who knew (usually a dyke. Thank Dog for dykes.) tie one for me, and I'd leave it, tied, on a hanger until the job interview/wedding/funeral, and then return it, since it wasn't my tie.
Somehow this time
leirdal managed to imprint the knowledge so that it stuck. I can now tie a tie, and now that I can tie them, I want them.
The entire upper of my recent job interview outfit was borrowed. The shirt was the ex-co-con's Good Shirt, from, I believe, Moore's, the Suit People. It's a faintly shimmery taupe/silver weave, unpatterned. Understated yet decorative. You know, like me.
He also had to wear it the day before, so I could only pick it up that night. I borrowed two ties, one from Leirdal, and one from the ex-co-con.
( A longer version of a story about ties, under a cut tag out of mercy. )

*When did "pant" as the generic of "pair of pants" happen? Has it always been like that, or did they invent it for "What not to wear"? Does it make anyone else feel faintly nauseous?
